A Hunger from Beyond is a quest in Divinity: Original Sin II. It is part of the chronicle The Four Relics of Rivellon.

Collect the full set of the Devourer Armour.

We found the diary of a long-dead adventurer. He was after the gauntlets of the Devourer, supposedly hidden in the tower of Braccus Rex. After collecting the gauntlets of the Devourer, we experienced a strange longing for books and parchment, somewhere in the direction of Reaper's Eye. We should look for this place. We had a vision of fire and ash where a voice spoke to us, encouraging us to find this 'place of longing'. It insisted we could speak to it again there. After casting Spirit Vision, we noticed a spirit was following us. The Chronicler's spirit recovered the original design for the Devourer armour for the Outlaw Empress. She sacrificed him to the armour when it was complete. Braccus Rex was researching a full armour set tied to the Devourer and its original owner, the Outlaw Empress. He only recovered the gauntlets, but left behind useful information about the Devourer's cult. In Orivand's chamber, we had a vision of ash and flame. A mysterious voice told us to seek another piece of armour in the 'garden of stone and death', away from Reaper's Eye. The Devourer's boots are ours. When we picked them up, there was an intense longing to find an excavation site in the east. We had an unusual vision of fire and ash. The Archaeologist's spirit asked us to take him to his place of longing: an excavation site near Stonegarden. In the Blackpits, we found a remnant of memory haunting the excavation site. The bones of the Devourer were unearthed here. A growling voice demanded we seek another piece of armour on the 'island without a name'. The spirit of the Archaeologist excavated the bones of an ancient dragon - the Devourer - for the Outlaw Empress. She used the bones to make the armour set and then murdered him. We learned that there's some method to free the spirits from the armour, but have yet to uncover it. The House of Shadows was after the armour of the Devourer. They believed one piece was on the Nameless Isle, with two more hidden in the humans' capital city: one in the hands of a man named Kemm, the other guarded by lizards. An ancient inscription in the Nameless Isle cave indicated a fire rune must be offered to the Dragon's Mouth to proceed. We found a massive dragon's skull inside a cave. There's enough space to fit something inside. We found the Devourer's legguards and experiences a sharp longing to see a temple high on a cliff. The Fanatic's spirit asked us to take him to his place of longing: a clifftop beside the Temple of Zorl-Stissa. Outside the ruins of Zorl-Stissa's temple, we learned the cult of the Devourer was driven into hiding. There are two more armour pieces away from the Nameless Isle: one owned by a man named Kemm, and the other protected by an enclave of lizards. The Fanatic's spirit preached the virtues of the Devourer. He claimed we have to consume every spirit bound to the armour to unlock its true potential. Lord Kemm kept records of every new acquisition for his private vault. One recorded mentioned a helmet of the Devourer. We found a note behind a painting of the Outlaw Empress in Lord Kemm's vault. It mentioned a dragon's helm and a code: 2-3-2-1-1-3. After entering the right code into Lord Kemm's vault, a heavy helmet of dragonbone appeared inside his cabinet. We retrieved the Devourer's helm and felt an obsessive longing to visit a certain workshop. The Craftmistress' spirit asked us to take her to her place of longing: a workshop in Arx. In the toymaker's shop on Arx, we had a vision of ash and fire. The fragment of memory there was overjoyed to be surrounded by trinkets of such esteemed craftsmanship.
