After awakening on the {{DOS2|Merryweather}}, this quest is initiated by speaking to {{DOS2|Waters|Magister Waters}} on the lower deck of the ship. Water is in a room guarded by {{MdChar DOS2|Cadoc}} and {{MdChar DOS2|Marel}}, investigating the remains of {{DOS2|Finn|a Sourcerer's corpse}}.
 
{{DOS2|Elf|Elves}} can {{Status DOS2|Sneaking|Sneak}} behind {{MdChar DOS2|Waters}} to retrieve a piece of {{DOS2|Chunk of Flesh (Finn)|Finn's corpse}}. Upon consuming, the skill {{MdSkill DOS2|Adrenaline}} is learned, and Finn's memories reveal an old woman approaching him. This information can be relayed to {{MdChar DOS2|Waters}}.

  • A Sourcerer lies murdered. The Magisters will pay for a lead on the killer.
  • If Waters is killed:
    • Magister Waters is dead. The Sourcerer's murderer is still at large.
Tell the Magisters who killed the Sourcerer.
Find the old woman who killed the Sourcerer.
  • An 'old woman' isn't enough information. The Magisters need more.
Quest complete.
  • A woman named Windego confessed to the murder, implied that we would have been next, then triggered an explosion and fled.

Walkthrough

After awakening on the Merryweather, this quest is initiated by speaking to Magister Waters on the lower deck of the ship. Water is in a room guarded by Cadoc and Marel, investigating the remains of a Sourcerer's corpse.

Elves can Sneak behind Waters to retrieve a piece of Finn's corpse. Upon consuming, the skill Adrenaline is learned, and Finn's memories reveal an old woman approaching him. This information can be relayed to Waters.

Otherwise, the player character can speak with Payde to access the stern room. Inside, several Magisters interrogate Windego, who confesses to murdering Finn before killing the nearby Reds and knocking the player character unconscious.
