After completing 
Restore Mardaneus' Sanity, 
George's corpse can be found in his house next to the front counter.
The player character can ask the townsfolk about George's death. 
Mardaneus is the only one who offers a reward for uncovering George's murderer or the reason he was killed. During this conversation, it is revealed that George was addicted to Drudanae, which caused his financial struggles.
