Walkthrough
An arm sticking out of the sand can be found at X: 360 Y: 80 . With a wits check, you will be able to pry the arm free.
Note: Undead characters cannot interact with the arm.
Putting down the arm will point you to the southeast part of the map, specifically at the ornate chest at X: 530 Y: 19 .
Note: You need a teleport ability to get to the chest. Additionally, if you have completed
The Vault of Braccus Rex, Sech Zapor's soul jar may be used for this quest.
If you have the Bless ability, use it on the stone ring to deactivate the barrier. Otherwise, continue this quest at a later time. If you have the captain's soul jar, you must pass a persuasion check to trade his soul jar for his coat, the chest armour piece of the set. Otherwise, you will enter combat against him and his crew. Defeating him will also grant the coat. Retrieving the coat gives you 25 xp. Inside the ornate chest, read the captain's tattered log to learn the password for his hideaway.
Teleport to 'Hollow Marshes - Abandoned Camp' if you have the waypoint and walk to X: 606 Y: 242 . Otherwise, just walk there. Dig the sand there to reveal a locked chest. Inside are the Captain's Dextrous Heels, the boots for this armour set that give you 25 xp.
Teleport to 'Hollow Marshes - Dragon's Beach' if you have the waypoint and walk to X: 600 Y: 195 . Otherwise, just walk there. Enter the cave, Captain's Hideaway, and recite the password for the hideaway you learned earlier for 50 xp. Inside the hideaway, the Captain's Jaunty Hat is found on the floor. Picking it up will give 25 xp and initiate combat if you have not yet defeated Sech Zapor and his men. Defeating them will grant no xp, so you may flee if necessary.
