Make a Brave Face of It is a companion quest for Fane in Divinity: Original Sin II.

Objectives

Craft a new mask.
Until he finds his mask or makes a new one, Fane needs to keep his skeletal face covered. Fane needs to find a 'face ripper' - or find someone who can make one. As Fane: I should keep a metaphorical eye out for the materials I need. Until then, I must keep my face covered.

Find Kniles.
Fane asked a blacksmith for a device to rip the faces off corpses. She angrily directed him to the dungeons and someone called 'Kniles'. As Fane: When I asked about a face-ripping tool the simpleton blacksmith was very upset. I hope this 'Kniles' is more open-minded.

Craft a new Mask of the Shapeshifter.
With the face-ripper, Fane will tear the faces from corpses and combine them with Source orbs to make a Mask of the Shapeshifter.

Reclaim the mask.
The witch who stole Fane's shapeshifter mask seemed to commune with an otherworldly presence. As Fane: I found the thief who stole my mask. Her lord god hates me. Perhaps he is jealous.

Quest complete.
Fane retrieved his Mask of the Shapeshifter. As Fane: I retrieved my mask. Thankfully the ape who stole it did no damage.

Walkthrough

After recruiting Fane to the party, he asks the blacksmith Nebora for a face-ripping tool. Alarmed, she directs him to Kniles in The Flenser's Playground. Kniles is willing to trade a Face-ripper for Atusa's Leg.

After escaping Fort Joy, confront Windego near the shoreline of the Hollow Marshes at   X: 380  Y: 246  . Retrieve Fane's Mask of the Shapeshifter from her corpse and place it in Fane's inventory, completing the quest.
