Classic and enhanced editions
The classic edition of Divinity: Original Sin was the game's first release. The enhanced edition can be considered a separate game, not an update to the classic edition. The enhanced edition includes major changes such as:
- Rewritten narrative with a new ending
- Full voice acting
- New quests, characters, visual effects, cutscenes, animations, regions, and more
- New gameplay modes and character builds
- Overhauled skill system
- Rebalanced economy
- Numerous quality of life improvements

Larian Forums. The full changelog contains spoilers.
If purchasing Divinity: Original Sin on Steam, the classic edition is automatically bundled with the enhanced edition at no additional cost. It is not possible to only purchase the classic edition on Steam.
