Richard was investigating the Duke's death at Stormfist Castle. Despite reports that he died of a heart attack, Richard believes something else caused his death. After learning about the investigation, Template:Icon DD hired the Assassin's Guild to dispose of the soldier, causing Richard to hide in the Farmlands.
If killing the assassin Template:Icon DD, Richard is grateful to have more time to flee before the Assassin's Guild send someone else.
